|description=The Sony BVW-65P is the PAL version of the BVW-65, a Betacam SP studio player with Dynamic Tracking introduced by Sony in 1987. It is the higher-end playback-only companion to the BVW-60P, distinguished by the addition of Dynamic Tracking (DT) capability for noiseless variable-speed playback.

The BVW-65P plays back both Betacam SP metal particle tapes and original oxide Betacam cassettes in both L-size (100+ minutes at PAL speed) and S-size (30 minutes) formats. Dynamic Tracking provides broadcast-quality noiseless playback from -1 to +2 times normal speed, enabling smooth slow-motion and reverse-motion effects. The DMC (Dynamic Motion Control) feature memorizes tape speed trajectories within the DT range for automated variable-speed editing sequences when used as a feeder with a BVW-70P or BVW-75P recorder.

Four audio channels are available: two longitudinal tracks with Dolby C noise reduction and two AFM tracks. The built-in TBC with digital dropout compensation provides stable broadcast-quality output. Normal tape speed can be varied by +/-16% using the search dial or +/-8% using the TRIM buttons during playback.
