The BVT-810 uses a 16-line digital memory buffer, half the size of the BVT-800&amp;#039;s 32-line buffer. As a line-store TBC rather than a full-frame TBC or frame synchronizer, the BVT-810 requires an advanced sync loop from the TBC back to the source VTR&amp;#039;s external sync input. This architecture has an advantage over later full-frame TBCs for preservation work: because the BVT-810 processes only 16 lines at a time, it is more likely to successfully correct weak or unstable video signals that would cause a full-frame TBC to strobe the image.&lt;br /&gt;

A key improvement over the BVT-800 is the addition of integrated noise reduction (NR). The BVT-810 also features a large multi-pin connector specifically designed for interfacing with the BVU-820&amp;#039;s slow-motion (Dynamic Tracking) capability, and provides a dedicated subcarrier (SC) output for connection to the source VTR&amp;#039;s external SC input.&lt;br /&gt;

The BVT-810 requires the source VTR to have an external sync input. It works with the BVU-800 (which has a dedicated &amp;quot;Sync In&amp;quot; BNC connector) and the AV-8650 (whose video input doubles as a sync input). VTRs without an external sync input, such as the CV-2100, cannot be directly used with the BVT-810.&lt;br /&gt;

BAVC (Bay Area Video Coalition) used a BVT-810 in their video preservation remastering system alongside BVU-800 and AV-8650 source decks. The PAL variant &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;BVT-810P&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; is designed for use with the VO-9600P, VO-9800P, and VO-9850P.&lt;br /&gt;
